I’ve been using Lathrop Transit’s Dial-a-Ride service for a few weeks now, and it has been nothing short of amazing. Booking a ride is simple, and the wait times are reasonable perfect for someone like me who needs flexible transportation within the city. The drivers are consistently courteous, on time, and very professional. The vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and wheelchair accessible, which makes a huge difference for those with mobility needs. I really appreciate how this service helps connect residents like me to parks, shopping, and local destinations without the hassle. It’s affordable, dependable, and makes life in Lathrop so much easier.

Frequently Asked Question

Let’s get you some answers.

How far in advance can I book Dial-A-Ride?

Lathrop Transit takes reservations up to one week in advance.

Are buses ADA accessible?

Lathrop Transit vehicles are accessible to persons with disabilities and persons using wheelchairs. When using the Lathrop Transit app or making a reservation by phone, please designate a wheelchair will be boarding to efficiently manage space on a vehicle.

Can I bring my bike?

Yes, the vehicles have a bike storage on the rear of the bus. When boarding, please notify the bus driver.

Are pets allowed?

Only service animals are allowed on all transit vehicles. Under Department of Transportation (DOT) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, the definition of a service animal is an animal “individually trained to work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.” Animals meeting this definition are considered service animals under the ADA regardless of whether they have been licensed or certified by a state or local government. If an animal’s only function is to provide emotional support or comfort for the rider, that animal would not fall under the regulatory training-based definition of a service animal. Service animals are working animals and not pets. Service animals must always be under the control of the owner and well-behaved. Any service animal will be removed if it shows signs of aggression or inappropriate behavior, such as uncontrolled barking, growling at other passengers, jumping on other passengers, or running away from the owner.

Will my ride be shared with others?

Trips may be shared to optimize travel and ensure your wait time is minimized. Though Lathrop Transit is an innovative new on demand option it is still a public transit service.

Do you operate on weekends or holidays?

Service is offered Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lathrop Transit does not operate on weekends and all federal holidays.
